  A female goat (nanny) has reportedly delivered a half-human, half-goat (kid) at the Adigun-Oke community in the Ifelodun local government area of Kwara state. It was gathered that the incident happened last Wednesday evening as people rushed to catch a glimpse of the shocking discovery in the backyard of the house where the goat was delivered. According to the wife of the owner of the female goat, Aishat Umar, who spoke in Hausa, the female goat actually gave birth to two kids, saying that one was a complete goat while the other was in human form, except for the ears and the hands. Also speaking on the incident, one of the community leaders in Adigun-Oke village, Pa James Adeoye, said that people were just seen rushing to see the astounding discovery, adding that one of the creatures has hair all over the body just like a goat, while the second looks exactly like a human being, without hair but with teeth like a human being. Says the 10 witnesses were subpoenaed, and their statements filed after the hearing started The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has rejected 10 out of 13 witnesses presented by the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi. Justice Haruna Tsammani, while delivering judgment on the petition filed by Obi and LP, said on Wednesday that only three witnesses, whose statements are on oath, were filed along with the petition. The remaining 10 witnesses, the Justice noted, were subpoenaed, and their witness statements on oath were only filed after the hearing started. Tsammani stated that according to section 285 of the Nigerian constitution, section 137(7) of the Electoral Act 2022, and other provisions, every witness statement on oath must be filed along with the petition. He said that based on the Supreme Court authority, once the 21-day window for filing an election petition elapses, the petition’s content cannot be amended.   The Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, sitting in Abuja, has dismissed the allegation by the Labour Party, LP, and its candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, that the 2023 presidential election was rigged in favour of President Bola Tinubu. The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, will today begin a two-day warning strike after shunning a meeting with the Federal Government over increasing hardship and suffering across the country caused by the removal of fuel subsidy. This came as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong, yesterday warned that the strike will worsen the plights of ordinary Nigerians and urged NLC to shelve the action. The National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions Employees (NUBIFIE) says its members will join the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in its two-day strike action. NLC recently announced plans to embark on a nationwide strike to protest the hike in petrol pump price, electricity tariff, alongside other issues, and accused the federal government of abandoning negotiations. The congress also said the government has failed to implement some of the resolutions reached at previous meetings. The industrial action is scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Aligning with the movement, NUBIFIE in a statement signed by  Mohammed Sheikh, its general secretary,  directed all members to stay off duty during the two-day strike. THE Federal Government on Monday made desperate efforts to avert the proposed two day warning strike being organized by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, over the worsening economic situation in the country. Already, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Rt. Hon. Simon Lalong has summoned meeting involving all relevant stakeholders including the leadership of NLC to a negotiation meeting in Abuja.
