The rollicking kids comedy follows a monkey whose biggest threat is his own massive ego. Some people are just built different. The same can be said for certain monkeys. Magical monkeys. The animated feature, from actor and filmmaker Stephen Chow ( Kung Fu Hustle , Shaolin Soccer ), follows one such primate, who’s an unlikely — and, at times, unwanted — hero. Monkey, as he’s called, was birthed from a rock. But while the young lad was born with superpowers, he has no chill. In order to win over his fellow monkeys, he embarks on an action-packed journey to defeat all the demons in the land.
